DOUBLE WIN FOR DANNY McCANNEY AT ROUNDS FOUR & FIVE OF 2011 BRITISH ENDURO CHAMPIONSHIP

12-07-2011

McCanney won the E3 and the Junior Championship classes both days, placing third and second outright. McCanney now leads the championship points standings in both classes.

Danny McCanney: “I'm very happy with those results, my primary goal for the remainder of this year is to add the 2011 E3 BEC title to my E3 BSEC championship, to prove just what a great all-round bike the CC300 Gas Gas is. That's two wins this weekend – so far so good!

"This was a brilliant weekend's sport, too, I really enjoyed the course, it was great on the going, and the tests were perfect. They were long days but I loved every minute and to be only 15 seconds off the win on the Sunday is awesome, an outright BEC win is getting closer by the weekend! ”

Steve Plain, Gas Gas team manager : “A great weekend all round. A special mention must go to the organising club, the event was pitch-perfect. Day one was a full eight hours of competition, with a great course and two excellent tests. Day two was only slightly shorter! It was a proper enduro and tested the riders exactly as it should.

"Danny was again riding brilliantly. He's still young and he lacks experience, so to already be winning his classes and to be top-three outright on both days shows just what his potential is. He's enjoying his racing and the results keep coming. I'm happy to say the CC300 was again everything Danny needed and it didn't miss a beat."

The team’s next event is July 23-24: The Brechfa Enduro – the sixth and seventh rounds of the British Enduro Championship at LLanybydder in Carmarthenshire.
