Tom Soderstrom from the Yamaha van Beers Racing Team has scored 4 World Championship points at round twelve of the World Championship Series in the Czech Republic. In the first moto he crashed twice in the beginning of the race and had to retire. In the second moto he was riding inside of the top fifteen for a long time but in the closing stages of the race he lost two places and finished the race in 17th position. Ceriel Klein Kromhof had a day to forget at Loket. In the warm up session he twisted his ankle and in the first moto he crashed when he was riding inside of the points. He dropped out of the points and had to come back through the field. In his charge back he had a lot of pain in his ankle and he also suffered some arm pump. After several laps Ceriel decided to retire from the race. In the second moto he crashed in the beginning of the race and because his handlebar grip was damaged he was forced to retire from the race.
Because it had rained a lot on Friday and Saturday morning, the track was really muddy during the free practice session. Because of this the organisation decided to skip the qualifying heats. Instead of a qualifying heat the starting grid for the races on Sunday was decided in a time practice. Ceriel couldn't find his rhythm and ended the session in 30th position. Tom made a big crash in the beginning of the session and went back to the paddock. Because he didn't came out on the track anymore he dropped back to 27th position.
